Bentley Triathlon

Bentley Triathletes competed in their first collegiate race of the year this past weekend in Freeport, Maine. Finishing in 6th place overall and taking home 50 points toward the overall league standings. Not a bad start to the season. Looking forward to this weekend at Buzzards Bay. See the results tab for individual results.

Yesterday was a great day for Bentley Triathlon. Athletes Jim Petersen and Vanessa Wegner both competed in the Wild Cat Triathlon in Lowell, MA. Jim Petersen notched the overall victory and Vanessa finished first in the female 20-24 age group!

Bentley triathletes are going all out this summer in preperation for this Fall's races. Vanessa wegner competed her first triathlon in New Hampshire and is going for her second soon. Evelyn Marrero completed her first triathlon as well which can be seen in the results page. Finally Pete Taglino and Joe Kraweic are both planning on doing their first century ride!

This past weekend Bentley was represented for the first time at USA Triathlon Collegiate Nationals. Representing the team was Junior President, Jim Petersen. Sustaining a knee injury the day before, Jim completed the race 321st. Being represented by one athlete, Bentley managed to place 88th overall in the male standings, beating out about 15 other qualified teams. Looking forward to sending a full team next year! But this is a good start!

Bentley finished 10th overall out of 25 teams at its first Tri-Mania appearance. It also finished with the second overall team swim time and fourth overall team run time!
